Case Submission

Pathologists and hematologists/oncologists are encouraged to submit cases to the Joint CSHP-EA4HP-SH Workshop 2024. The Scientific Panel of the Joint Workshop will review all submitted cases, and select cases for platform presentations at the Workshop. Case submission begins on May 8th, 2023, and ends on Sept 11th, 2023 (12:00 AM, Beijing time UTC+8).Notifications for the selected case presentations will be sent in November, 2023.

The Joint Workshop is seeking the following case types and features:

Case Types

1). Reactive proliferations of macrophages and dendritic cells that mimic histiocytosis;

2). Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) including cases secondary to hematolymphoid neoplasms;

3). Langerhans cell and other histiocytoses (e,g, ECD, JXG, RDD, MRH, ALK+ histiocytosis), including cases with features overlapping between different entities (so-called "mixed histiocytoses") (cases of solitary JXG and reticulohistiocytoma excluded).

4). BPDCN and plasmacytoid dendritic cell proliferations associated with myeloid neoplasms;

5). Malignant histiocytosis (e.g. histiocytic sarcoma, follicular dendritic cell sarcoma, Langerhans cell sarcoma, interdigitating dendritic cell sarcoma etc), including cases illustrating issues in assigning cell of origin and difficulties in assessing malignant potential."

Case Features

The Workshop will focus on cases with one or more of the following features:

1). Exemplary demonstration of various subtypes of histiocytic/dendritic cell proliferations and neoplasms using multidisciplinary correlations;

2). Borderline cases illustrating morphologic and immunophenotypic overlaps of various subtypes of histiocytic/dendritic cell neoplasm;

3). Transdifferentiation of histiocytic/dendritic cell neoplasms from the associated lymphomas/leukemias;

4). Rare histiocytic/dendritic cell neoplasms with unusual clinical, morphologic, immunophenotypic, or genetic features.

Material Requested

1. One completed Case Submission Form; *Download Case Submission Form here

2. One PowerPoint Presentation containing representative studies/images (no more than 20 ppt slides, maximum size 30MB) *download the Joint Workshop PPT file template here;

3. One whole slide scanned image of a representative H&E slide, scanned at 40x magnification. If you don’t have access to a scanner, please see the instructions below.

Instructions for Case Submitters who do not have access to a slide scanner
